Howdy, and thanks for your comment to my posting down aways. I am answering your reply as a new post to make it easier for you to find.
First of all, I never started out with the intention of being a rescuer of the unwanted, but I have loved any and all animals pretty much all of my life - a long, long time. My friends have always known I am an animal lover, and the word got out at my work as well. It spread from their and I ended up getting contacted by folks wanting to give me their "pets" they can no longer care for, or do not want any more. It is actually a sad thing to hear, that life can be viewed as so disposable and unimportant. Anyway, that is how I ended up rescuing the two adult Leos I have. By the way, they both are the greatest!!!
As a side note, I also have a cat that was abandoned as a kitten in a cemetary, during winter, which can get very cold here in the Rocky Mountains. I have now had him with me going on 9 years, and he is the best cat I have ever cared for. It might just be my own views about life, but I am convinced that animals know who they feel comfortable and safe with, and who they don't.
Thanks again for your comments.
Scott

That's really interesting, Scott, and quite commendable. I completely agree with you and, unfortunately, know a lot of people who will dispose (and have disposed of) their pets in truly cruel ways.

I've always planned that, when I have my own home, I'd rescue dogs whenever I had the chance, give them medical attention, and maybe look for new homes (or their old home) for them but never throw them out onto the streets. I can't bear to watch an animal suffer in a city made by people trying to find food, fend themselves from other dogs, not get hurt or hit by a car, etc. I can't take in strays in the position I am in now, but I would like to find animals like reptiles in shelters that I can give adequate care for in my position.

Your views and your actions are very uplifting to me, so I thank you for that
