::epper rush into the studio and sees him lavendar bell on the table and it make him smile from ear to ear. Pepper apologizes to every that him been AWOL for the past two days. It because Mom-Joolie haff been in the bed for the last 36 hours suffering from severe sinus infection and migraine headache. She thought she gonna die, but alas, no, she okay today. The doctor prescribed antibiotic and she feel bitter already. But lest we digress...

Pepper love, love, love the turtle candies that Sammy haff madeded and it brought good memories of Antee Jackie and that always a nise thing, too. So thank you, SammyWhee!!

Pepper decide to serve up every's favorite carrots again. MOL (since they went over so well the first time. NOT!!) This recipe is for Carrot Slaw and please DO NOT SPIT OUT THE CARROTS ON THE FLOOR!! :::says Pepper huffily):

You will need: 6 medium carrots, peeled
3/4 cup diced celery
1/4 cup diced onion
1/3 cup raisins
1/2 cup diced unpeeled apple
1/2 cup mayonnaise
salt and pepper to taste

Grate the carrots by hand or in a food processor. Toss with the celery, onion, raisins and apples. Mix in the mayonnaise, season well with salt and pepper and chill thoroughly.

Pepper serves samples and then giff every the evil eye just daring them to spit out the carrots on the floor! Harumph.

"Umm, okay." says Mom-Joolie. "Fur shure I am feeling bitter now.".....or not.

Well, so, but, anyway, Pepper wants to know how Antee Lenore doing these days, btw. Pepper think him will prepare a special Get-Well treat for Antee Lenore. This is called Truman Ozark Pudding and was made by Bess Truman for her hubby, ol' Harry.

You will need:
1 egg
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped peeled apples
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
whipped cream (with a touch of Rum, if desired) or vanilla ice cream

Preheat the oven to 350-degrees. Grease a 10-inch pie pan.
Beat the egg and sugar together until smooth and creamy. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Blend well. Fold in the apples, nuts, and vanilla. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove for the oven; the pudding will fall, but it's supposed to. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream....

Pepper surprised how every slurp up this dish and lick they plates! Some are rood enough to make big belching noises, but enough about Remi. MOL (wink, wink).

Since many are still seemingly starving to deaf, Pepper follows up with another recipe which hopefully Antee Lenore will enjoy. It called "Shoofly Pie". You will need:

Basic pastry dough
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup dark brown corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup heavy cream, softly whipped

Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Line a 9-inch pie pan with the rolled-out dough.
To make the crumb topping, put the flour, brown sugar, and shortening in a bowl. Using a pastry blender, two knives, or your fingertips, work the shortening into the flour and sugar until the mixture resembles small crumbs.
Pour the water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the baking soda. Add the corn syrup and salt, and blend well. Pour this filling into the pie shell and sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the top. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the filling is 'set'. Serve warm with the whipped cream.

::epper makes a big batch of this and has it Fed-EX-ed to Antee Lenore in Florida. He also attaches a Get Well Love Letter to her telling her that he thinks of her alla the time and hope she feeling better each day. Him swear him undying love to her, too.::::
