Yes she is alive. I have her on loan right now from the guy that found her in his back yard to see if I can get her to eat. As yet I have been unsuccessful. The kink at the base of the heads may prevent her from eating but I have witnessed both heads drinking at once.
man thats awsome as a fan of l.g.nigra i am really just blown away !!! good luck gettin it eating, i have worked w/them for the past 4years and babies can be difficult to start, i have had great success w/ newborn(under12hrs)live pinkie mice scented w/skink blood also pinkie parts and mouse tails,as a last resort most go right away after ground skinks they trigger on that movement , again good luck and keep us posted,,,,,,, thomas davis
I agree that baby nigra sometimes don't want to start on pinks. But a good trick that I've had decent success with is using pinks that other snakes didn't eat. For example, if I left a live pink overnight in a deli cup with a baby corn and the corn refused, sometimes offering that same pink to a baby black king would do the trick. Just a thought. I've also used fresh roadkill snake parts (garter, dekay's) to start black kings as well.

agreed i also have had success w/leftover pinks,,carrion factor? seems to trigger a feeding response, same w/using roadkill to scent it does work quite well w/baby nigra,in the past 3years of producing them ive found that about 50% will take live unscented newborn pinks as their first meal the other 50% takes some patience, i have a 3yearold cbb adult that will still only take mice scented w/skink or RK blood, strange but true,,,,,,,
I have used dead goldfish to scent pinks for problem feeders OR you may wanna try some chicken liver & as gross as this sounds let the pinks sit in the sun for a couple hours after smearing chicken liver juice all over it.
Don't know why but some of my guys, especially Kings & Indigos, well the skankier it smells the better they like it!!!
Go figure.......... good luck with it.

Thanks for the advice I tried the unsencted pinks and the pinks scented with corn snake but I do not even get a feeding response.
