A friend of mine has recently rescued a stray calico cat. She currently has about 10 other cats and this one has not adapted well to the situation. She is looking for a rescue group that places calico cats in families that want calico cats. She is very concerned that the cat be placed in a loving home that has been "checked out", etc. We live in the Orlando Florida area. The cat seems to be afraid to to go outside, is afraid of other cats, and seems to have developed bladder control issues (which my guess is that this stems from the other cat issue). More specifically, there is one stray that seems to bother her the most.
I have had a calico cat in the past who seemed to exhibit many of the same problems with the addition of being a "3-pet" cat who only wanted minimal human petting, etc. So, I understand my friend's concern about placement -- she doesn't want the poor thing to end up homeless or abused by just adopting her out to just anyone. Any guidance would eb greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tracy
