Help in changing from crickets to mealworms...

spasmolytic Oct 15, 2003 12:14 AM

I would much rather feed all my geckos mealworms, but I have two stubborn AFT's that as of yet have refused to eat a single mealworm. I also have a young leo who is recovering from being sick from the breeder I got her from and has just started eating again. I think I need to get more weight on her before I try to switch her.
But can anyone please give me suggestions on how to best switch stubborn eaters to mealworms?
I have switched one over who used to eat only crickets, but have not had any luck with the AFT's yet.

Good luck with the Fattails. I had a couple in Japan who never changed. They used to eat some supers, but never got them to eat mealworms or drop crickets altogether. Crickets were real expensive over there and not too easy to get, but we ended up dealing with it. We actually started raising crix for a while. Just try every once in a while to see if you can get them interested. Good luck.
