We MITE have a pwoblem...

purrrplej May 05, 2011 07:36 PM

Well, dis week Mommy took Yuki in fur a checkup at de vetdoktor cuz he turned 1 yeer old today (not bad, havin a purrday on Sinco de Mayo). She wuzn't expecting anyting but a rootine exam, no big deel. But much to her horror, she lernt dat Yuki had mites in his eers. Yuck. An so den dey dragged me in (an I let dem know I wuzn't happy to be dere) fur tests and found dat I, too, had de eer mites. So now Mommy understands why we wuz shakin our heds so much - she thot it wuz jus a mannerism dat Yuki had (since he did it from de very start), an dat I lernt it fwom him... but reely, Yuki must've come to us wid de mites, an den I cawt dem (tanks SO much, liddle bwudder!), so den we both wuz shakin our heds cuz our eers itched... Now Mommy feels reely, reely bad fur us dat we were sufferin fur months, probly, an she nebber eben knew dat we mite have mites (no pun intended).. She feels wike a bad petparent.

But, de vetdoktor gabe us some Revolushun meddy-sin, an Mommy got sum creem to put in our eers a cupple times a week to make de inflammashun betterer. An den we will probly hafta go back in fur a re-check (wah). We wuz reely good today fur Mommy when she twied to put de creem in our eerz fur de first time. We didn't put up any fite at all. Cuz we love an trust Mommy, an know anyting she wood do to us is fur our own good.

In udder mews, Yuki an I suprised Mommy by lyin reely close (within a paw's reach, mebbe) together in de libbin room today, face to face. We'll be cuddlin in no time, mebbe! Mommy so proud of us fur gettin along so well together.

Mommy is workin hard at her two jobs (Target an de shoo store) tryin to keep us housed an fed... The days an nites are long an her footsies are often sore, not to mention her arthritic knee, but she doin' what she hasta do till a nice cushy FT job comes along... ackshully, there is a pwomising pwospect at the company she used to temp for, a perm job in a diffrn't dept. So we's hopin dat she gets it cuz it wood make her happier an she woodn't hafta work so hard...

Take care, efurry.

Mites isn't too big of a deal, Murray, iffen they taked care of. Lots of us has bringed them with us when we came. Glad you got it fixed afore it got really bad. As you sed, the Rebolushun against them works fine and dandy, and that is what we SnowtaKits use here fur our summer pest control. Mom sez rooteen ear checkin and cleanin has helped her deteck any purroblems with us, and kudos to your mom fur usin the vetdokter purrscribed medisin and not ober the counter stuff ... that stuff can aktually burn ears~! We hopes your buggies is gone soon

Eeeww those ear mites is a real nusisance and not fun at all. Have your mommy keep an eye on your ears though cuz we have found that the Revolution doesn't work all that well on those buggies. Our vet uses a one time ear mite medicine that kills them icky bugs right away. Tell your mommy to wash all your bedding too so make sure there none of them critters hidingout. Hope you kits stop shakin' and skratchin' real soon.
