hey guys,

i got an interesting story... as i rolled in from school today, i parked the car and made my way to the front door...as i got closer i noticed a small package on the porch, so i was like dope my dvd's came finally, but no, as i got closer i found a little turtle trying to break into my house, haha.

when i went to the pet shop later to get a rat for my boa, i took the turtle with me and they told me its an aggrigate? box turtle!.. so im one of you happy owners now, dunno how or where he came from but hes mine... so if anyone cares or is willing to fill me in on taking care of, feeding, owning, do's & dont's, or any advice at all...it will be greatly appreciated...

as far as I know there's no such thing as a aggrigate box turtle... unless it's one of the asian sp. which I highly doubt... could you post a pic?
okay time for questions;
how big is it?
where do you have it?
does it have a hinge(can it's shell close up)?
not to get to personal but where do you live? we'll have a better chance of ID'ing the little guy knowing your locale.

does it have a hinge(can it's shell close up)?

Not all turtles have a hinge... This is the feature that makes box turtles unique (hence the name). Are you sure that the front section of the plastron (bottom half of the shell) is hinged and can close up?
Also, your original posting wasn't clear: was this turtle shipped to you, or did it show up on your doorstep?
Hopefully others more talented than myself will be able to tell you what kind of turtle you have.
Good luck
Stephanie

by looks and by the toes I can see(hehe) it's appears to be a fairly old(dont get me wrong she still has a good number of years ahead of her with proper care) female 3-toed box turtle (Terrapene Carolina Triunguis).
But.. if I remember correctly there are no native sp.(or ssp.) of box turtle in Calif.
