Deer furrends
We hav losst our Willie, as he passed ober da Rainbow Bridge in da earrly hours of Tuesday, just before Sammywhee. We like to think they are there, in good health and "young" again.
Willie had a habit of staying out over night, and mostly came back in da AM. But he had been gone 3 nights and even though da Lady called all over his territory did not see or hear any sign.
Then on Monday evening, he showed himself, took a few steps and lay down, until da Lady went and carried him home. He had no injuries and still would walk around in da house, but well, just sad to tell, it seemed like he used his lasst strength to get home and was ready to pass. His back legs were wet on the bottom, and it seems he had waded across da furry small creek back of where we found him. We think he had gone into the shrubs to sleep away, but came home to spend his final hours wiv us. And so he did, lying beside da Lady's bed.
We saw he was looking older, but a thorough vet exam showed him to be well for an old cat. He kept up his Willie ways to the end, eating with his big steamshovel bites, trying to steal a veggie burger off da Lady's plate (sitting watching da news in da living room) just a week before.
Willie was just over 16 years old, a lovely SOBOL wiv big mitts, polydactyl.
We are furry sad here, and he is buried under a tree where he would stop and check out the dog yard, before returning home.
Da lady's daughterkit planted a pretty lantana shrub, in orange variegated colors and da greatgrandkids put quartz stones in pink and white from da property.
Dis iz da furrst we could meow about it.
Wuv to all frum Topaze and da Lady
