:::epper meets up wiff Topaze to begin the Great Tunnel Adventure.

Topaze is carrying hims nise backpack stuffed to the max with all hims supplies and stuff. Topaze is slightly taken back to see that Pepper has 32 pieces of Gucci baggages as well as 16 coolers with fud and drinks and odder things. They is all attach with cords and on wheels so alls Pepper haff to doed is pull on the first sootcase and everything drags along behind.... But that neither here nor there.

Pepper puts out a notise to every whoever wants to join that now is the time. This is the plan....

They gonna begin at one of the entrances to the Great Tunnel and slowly trudge along checking to see how the tunnel has held up all this time. Clearing out the cobwebs, making minor repairs and such. They will plan to stop and take a snack break every 30 minutes or so. On accounta (c. Binny 1932) to keep up their strength and all. When the group reaches The Massive and Magnificent Ballroom at the point where all the tunnels coming in from all points meet up, they will set up for a great and wonderful celebration. This is what they all did all those long years ago and it was such fun.

Pepper remembers fondly that he befriended a mole whose name escapes him for the moment and Pepper dabs at hims eyebolls with a teer-stained hankie (what got the little polka-dots on it) thinking about that sweet, little animul all that long time ago. Surely that little mole could not still be alive??? Pepper hopes against all odds that perhaps he is and they can revive their friendship.

Well, so, but, anyway, Topaze and Pepper patiently await to see who else shows up to begin the adventure of the summer. Topaze thinks maybe Larry MNsnowta might join us if him feeling better after hims surgery because it so dark down in the tunnel that good eyesight is not a requirement anyway....

And soon the adventure of The Great Tunnel will begin.....

::Jordi and Timmy get the cellofone call from Unkle Pepper about the Grate Tunnel Adbenchur, and jump up and down! They has heard tell of many stories of the orijinal construkshun of this tunnel, where effurry dugg and built, and met in the middle. Jo calls up Willow and tells her and Caleb to hurry up and meet them at the entrance so they can go too::

::Meanwhile, Becci, who is havin one of her spells and not feelin good, tells Lynsi and Ashli to run to EmCin's Cafe and help Paloma box up some lunches fur all the adbenchurers: all kindsa sammiches, froot, bejjies, salads, and Becci's homemade pikkles, and acourse bars and cookies!

::Meanwhile, Larry hears about the reopenin of the tunnel, and perks his ears up. He is bored outta his mind, and finks that a dark tunnel mite be fun ... iffen there is some kits to guide him so he don't bump into too much stuff, on accounta (c Nikki 1961) he still gots his stitches in. Ferris leads Larry to the haywagon, and gets on the trakter, fires it up, and starts totin most of the SnowtaKits to the Tunnel ....::

MaddyLou hears about da adbenchur and kwikly makes up a cuppla batches of toona rolls to take along.
Pou, Annie and Simi pack up tunnel-type outfints dey may need on dis adbenchur.
Thylvie dethide she gonna thit outthide da tunnel entranthe in cathe thumfing happen in dere she can call 911.
Da Wiscat menkits grab deir shoffuls, hardhats wiff beecun lites on dems, and shirts dey not mind gettin dirty.

Oh, I am so in furr dis trip/escapade/event. Umm, jusst so efurrybodee knows, Topaze (I myownself) iz a gurrlkit. And yes, it should be cooler in da tunnel, much better dan the OUT, AND dere is no SUNlight, so right dere it iz a break. Usually the temp underground runs, I fink, about 50 degrees. Probabwhee, we won't be dat cool right away, but when we are away frum da daylight, we will have it cooler going.

Fanks furr da wagon, Snowtas. Anee kit, espeshwhee da older ones, dat needs a break can stretch out and rest. Dat is a good fing to have, a nap spot.

BamBam and Cuddles go down to the basement and start searching for a tunnel entrance. They search for several hours before meowing to Mommy asking where it might be. MommySharon thinks a few minutes, and then remembers that their family lived in a different town when the original ZooCrewKits dug their tunnel.

The two kits look at each other. They are determined to NOT miss out on an adventure. Hey, everykit, we might take a while because we're starting a whole new tunnel, but we'll be there as soon as we can! They grab some shovels and start to dig.

Riley tells the other Catnip kits that Pepper called with an invite to this great tunnel adventure. They all hop up anddown excitedly because they remember what fun it was the last time. They remember the stories that Munchie told about all the exciting things that happened in that tunnel. Ashley and Mushka starts packing lots of salads and fruits and other good things to snack on while Riley and Harley head into the shed to dust off the railway tunnel car and give it a good oiling so the lever doesn't stick. He knows Mushka will need to ride most of the way because of her advanced years. Nicky looks for the tunnel helmets with the built in lights and makes sure the batteries are fully charged......and several extra battery packs too since he's afraid of the dark. He decides to bring his earplugs since he's heard tell of eerie sounds eminating from tunnels and eerie sounds scare the beegeebees outta him. He hopes there are no tunnelmonsters cuz he's scared of monsters too. Harley bops him on th ehead and tells him to stop thinkin' about that stuff or he'll never relax and have any fun. Once everything is packed, they all hop on the railways car and Riley and Harley start pumping up and down up and down up and down and the car starts to roll into the tunnel. They soon meet up with a few of the other kits and the fun begins........

::and so begins the journey to the center of the earthen tunnel. The beeg group of kits all line up in a straight line; each carrying hims or hers own supplies and belongings. Pepper pulls along his long trail of luggages and coolers. The kits pass by several stalagtites and stalamites what none of the original tunnel builders remember from before. That odd, think Pepper to himownself. I thought it takeded millions of yeers to form stalagtites such as that size but apparently not. Anyway, there a small pool of water and Pepper dip hims toes down into the water and then him come up with a great plan what is for each kit on this journey to drop a coin into the pool and maked a wish. Pepper wish for Antee WheesMom to bee happy onse again and him drop in a bright shiny new penny in the water and it goes down, down, down for many miles. Because the pool of water is berry deep. Don't fall into the pool, says Pepper to every.

Soon it time for first of many snack-time brakes. Pepper open a cooler and offer Jordi and Caleb and Topaze and Willow and BamBam and Ashley some of hims catnip brew. The other kits soon come over and every brings out some kind of treat to share. Soon somebuddy points out a whole bunch of bats hanging upside down from the ceiling and pepper begins to cry because him always had a great fear of bats. And spiders and snakes for that matter!! Timmy and Larry are not afraid. They iz the bravest kits of this whole group!! They calm every down (NOT!!) by diverting the attention to the scorpions crawling on the wall. MOL

Before long, it time to resume the journey towards the middle. It may take several days for the bunch to get there but after all they have plenty of time. Where's Riley???!! Oh no!! He didn't fall into that pool of water, did he????!!! Oh Holy Skunks and Cream Pie!! Go backwards every!! We have to re-trace our steps and try and locate Riley!!!!!::::

::After the entire group turned around and wented backwards to whence they came in the search for Riley, they founded him at the pool. Happily, he had NOT fallened in but was fishing at the edge!! He had bringed hims fishing pole, tackle box, etc. etc. and had seized upon the opportunity of catching some fish. And the bettererer news is that him caughted some fish!! So, dinner tonight is on Riley!!! Hooray!!

Now the group turns around onse again and resumes their journey to the middle....:::

:epper is happy to see the buffet celebration going strong upon his arrival!! He gladly accepts a catnip mojito; actually three of those, pleeze. He nibbles on the apptetizers and rumages through one of his sootcases discreetly searching for him red satin pumps as it seems so appropriate that he should be dressed up for the occasion!!!

He relaxes in a chair as it has been a long trip thus far and Pepper is not the 'young spring chiken' hims onse were. Actually him were never ever a chiken but it a cliche him enjoy using now and then.

And the celebration pardee is in full swing!!! Mission accomplished! Gud job every!! Very gud job!! another mojito? Don't mind iffn I do!!!

The hot air balloony is in the Smitsonian Mooseem.

It's all about para-sailin now and surfin big waves in the ocean bloo.
