It's a staggering number. But the number of animals killed in New York State shelters whom rescue groups were willing to save has topped 30,000 since the ASPCA and the Maddie's Fund funded 'Mayor's Alliance' killed rescue access legislation that would have made it illegal for shelters to kill animals if rescue groups were willing to save them. This is Ed Sayres' and Jane Hoffman's legacy. One killed Oreo despite a rescue alternative, the other defended him. Both worked to fight a law that would have empowered rescue groups by mandating collaboration. 30,000 deaths lead straight to the door of the ASPCA and Mayor's Alliance. How long are we going to maintain the fiction that we are all on the same team and we all want the same things?

We shud all look at da ASPCA and da HSUS wiff suxpishun! Making munny furry impordant to dems. Da ASPCA haff a nice shelter and put da "bestest" animuls up fur 'dopshun. But dey haff aunty-kwated ideas about who is 'doptabul and who isn't. It not fair, it old finking, and when dey had da chance to help sabe wi'l Oreo, da kitty, dey din't. Dey also "eufanized" many ob da Mikel Vick goggies wiffout trying to rehab dems. Animal rescue and care not deir 1st priority I gess.
Da HSUS no eben haff a shelter! Deir only job is making munny fur deir oberpaid CEO and fur deir fancy shmancy bilding in Wash D.C.

You knows, dere are 3 ob us now dat were considered UNadoptibul: Andre wiff hims defurmed front legs and hims terribul shyniss, Sylvie haff cerebellar hypoplasia which make her wobble and tip ober and stuff, and I haff a parshully paralized reer end. But gess what, Mommy luff us just like a "normal" kit!

Ashley and Nicky were also considered unadoptable cuz they was feral and Meadow had turrible asthma so nobody wanted her either. Munchie and Casey were black and Harley got that biting purroblem. And lookit us now!

Ain't it funny how the ASPCA in Mew Yawk haf such a nice big shelter and yet mom constantly gets hellophone calls from humans what say da ASPCA gave out mom's number to take kits. HSUS another story too. We not enamored wiff dem at all.
