Alright, im a 15 year old, and I have been obsessed with snakes my whole life, particulary Alterna. My dad works with lepidus in arizona, so i have been around the snake scene my whole life. For the past few summers, we have been able to escape form life in Tucson and get a few days in Texas. Last summer we went down to Big Bend, no luck for a altera. The summer be for last, we went down to Sanderson, no luck. Now, we are leaving saturday and are going straight to comstock. We are gonna be there until the 5th. Now all I wanna know is where you guys have been having luck in the Comstock Langtry area? Were gonna be out all night Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wensday. I hope to see a few of you guys out there. Good luck!

gee, you need to be there Thursday through Saturday. It will be over by Sunday.
Actually, it is all related to wind direction and barometer. If they are good, the alterna will be moving. If they are bad, you won't have much luck.
Most of Val Verde County had good rains yesterday and it is warming up, should start being good by Thursday.
Juno Road is a crapshoot. Some people like it, most avoid it as it is limited area and just 1-2 other herpsrs in the area can make it crowded. Langtry or Hwy. 277 would be your best bet.
The Motel in Comstock has NO television, has gotten expensive. Personally I'd stay either in Del Rio or Sanderson.

in terms of altera numbers i think 277 is your best shot for seeing a grey band. ill be there sat and sun night then im off to other places out west. email me if you have specific questions. wismarzx6e@hotmail.com
