Brumation questions

freakytah Oct 15, 2003 11:02 AM

I've got a bearded thats just a little over a year now and for the past week he has been incredibly lazy just lying around all day, most of the time with his head resting as well. This is my first bearded so I've never had one that has entered into brumation yet and I was just wondering if he could be going into it already. He hasn't eaten any crickets for at least 4 days and he will barely eat any of his greens. He doesn't seem to be having any problems breathing and he isn't losing weight as far as i can tell. I know you're supposed to lower the temperature when they are in brumation but he still seems to want to stay in the warmest ares of his cage. Any theories of his action would help out a great deal. Thanks.

A good age for burmation is about 1.5-2 years old. Have you had a fecal done on him yet? That is always the first step for me if I think something is wrong. Have you had any temperature drop in your house in the last week or two? Sometimes that will trigger them to start to slow down. Also, what are your temps in the cage right now and how long have you had him?
