Mommy is furry sad tonight, cause her Mommy (our gwamma) went to the bridge tonight. It were her time and dis has been coming for a long time.

But fur many doggies and kittties at the bridge they are dancing with joy! She is being met by untold number of kitties and doggies. Especially the big black standard poodles, a couple of Newfoundlands, a Golden Retriever and assorted dogs. Of course there are numerous Siamese kitties who will be yowling and crawling all over her.

So thinking of all that joy and them all crossing the bridge together it hard fur us to be too sad. We will cuddle Mommy lots and help her to feel better. But we still know dat dere some weally happy doggies and kitties tonight!

Oh Portia!! I am so saddened to hear this news!! I am so very sorry for your loss. And here you took time yesterday to write to me expressing such kindness and love about Pepper's failing health and now I must try and duplicate the note to you.....

Please know that we all send our sincerest sympathy and condolences upon your loss. This is so very sad and I am thinking of you.

Speaking of Pepper, he continues to decline. Over-all, his health is quite fragile and he is very weak and frail.... but there are times when he seems to be doing (relatively) okay and we hang on to those moments. Right now, today, he is walking around and just finished eating a pretty substantial breakfast and seems "bright-eyed and bushy-tailed". I will just take it one day at a time and hopefully, I will be wise enough and strong enough to know 'when the time is right' to take him to our wonderful vet to ease his way across the Rainbow Bridge to be reunited with all of my beloved cats who have gone before him.

He can join Ash and your mother who await him......

But again, please know that you are in my thoughts....

What a beautiful post, Portia, in your time of sadness! Our hearts do hurt for your loss, even with the happiness at the bridge and the joy and freedom your mom enjoys now. I shared the general thought of your post with a lady today who just lost her husband. They always had animals in their lives and this seemed to lift her spirits as she pictured Rainbow Bridge in her mind. She had never heard its wonderful tale. You are in many thoughts, human and furred. Hugs!
