Sparkle received a new digital camera for Christmas (I had a nice film camera, but no digital camera). I have had her a little over three weeks now. The vet estimated she is about 5 1/2 years old. We're fighting an infection she picked up at the SPCA at some point over the past 9 months she has been there and at Pet Smart (she has a cough, recurring eye infection, and bad gingivitis -- has lost some teeth). The vet said she had a rough life before meeting me. One more week on the antibiotic and the swelling will hopefully be down enough for some dental work to save as many teeth as possible so she can continue to eat well (can still eat dry).

You iz a very purty kit, let me tell you this. It iz wunnerful that you have gots a brand new furrever home where you will be loved and appreciated. I iz sorry to heer that you had a miserable life before you comed to live with your furrever fambly but you iz good now.

I hate to ask you this because I am here on my very last legs and am waiting at deaf's doorstep. But iz you engage, marry or odderwise attach?

Let me know as soon as possible on accounta (c. Binny 1776) because I may not be around berry much longer but I would love to get marry one more time before I cash in all my chips (as it were).

I am so sorry to hear of Pepper's passing. I just now read of it above and am very sad for the loss of such a beautiful kitty and beloved member of these boards.

It sounds like Sparkle had da kinda life that I did before I met my mommy. I only have my fangs left, and my joints are loose in the sockets. I had a really bad eye infection that made me go blind in my left eye, and I sneeze all the time. I just know that Sparkle is gonna be as crazy in love with you as I am with my mommy. Us cats who have a hard life really appreciate it when somebody loves us. Mommy and I are glad you two found each other.

Bam Bam's Mommy -- Let me ask you... Sparkle sees the vet tomorrow, but it sounds like she will have eye issues that could come and go for months, years. Right now, all is clear after three weeks of ointment, it seems.

She has her fangs and none of the little teeth up front. She has some of her side teeth (grinders), with a good number missing. So far, she has enough to eat dry, hoping to save more of her side teeth. Depending on how tomorrow's check up goes, the next step will be some dental work to hopefully clean and save what is left (although she has a loose one that will fall out per the vet).

What does Bam Bam eat? If it comes to a point of dry not working, I will go to wet and hope it works. I tried wet with Sparkle and she had trouble picking it up. It was a flake style, similar to tuna. Would a pate (mush) style work better? What works best with Bam Bam missing his teeth? Have you tried softening wet food (water on wet food)?

Awww....what a sweet girl she is! We so happy she haf a good forever home now. Much Glow for her to get all better so her toofies can get fixed soon.
