Hoo boy! Coldest morning of the year (so far) and my water heater finally bit the dust. It's been hinting at it for a while, but I kept getting hot water from it so...
Today was the worst of full-faculty meetings - from 9 to 4:15. So sorry to have missed it. The plumbers just left. Of course MY water heater has to be special and therefore harder to install and much more expensive -- has a motor on top and vents out through the side of the house. Don't have the bill yet, but the heater itself was quoted as $985. and then 3-4 hours of labor on top of that. They spent the morning chasing it down and the last 2 1/2 or so hours draining the old (with a hose out the back door for "heat conservation" and then installing the new. :::sigh:::

OK, I let Mommy tell all dat cuz I not unnerstood it enuff to meow, plus I no cared as long as it no affected us!

sigh sounds like my week here. This is momma Andi. Pita is out enjoying some cold air (at -13 mind you) and sassy is in love with a ear toe rub to care about anything.

Sunday at 4am I woke up to get ready for work and had no hot water, then went to start my truck (that was plugged in) and it would not start. Got into an argument with a coworker about him not doing his job (I was boss lady so it was my job).
came home found out the people above me had no water at all. turns out our hot water heaters were working, but the lines were froze. the association came out and thawed them, luckily no pipes burst. A friend came and jumped the battery in the truck, it worked Monday. Tuesday and yesterday it did not work even being plugged in. turns out the plug was not working..crap!
any how going to work now by cab. My friend is going to come and tqke the battery out warm it and speed charge it and see if he cannot get it to work.

so trust me I do understand about the cold and water heater. you have my sympathy and empathy. can only suggest snuggling up with the kitties...they always make things better!!!!

Mom sez them appliance thingys always seem to choose the worst time to break down. But it good your mom got that water heater fixed right away. Even better that she got the day off from skool.
