Mommy did get some test results over the phone, but her doctor feels that she needs to see a foot specialist. Test results so far:
original x-rays were taken March 7, and the ER doctor said there was nothing broken but she had a bad sprain. They also found that lesion on her ankle bone and suggested that she get an MRI.
MRI was done March 17th. She got those results on the phone from her regular doctor. The MRI showed that she had two very inflamed tendons and a torn ligament in her foot, but they couldn't identify what the lesion was. That doctor suggested that she see a foot specialist and have the 3 phase bone scan.
The 3 phase bone scan was done March 23rd. That was a total body scan and it showed mild to moderate arthritis in both shoulders, moderate arthritis in both knees, and that the there was a stress fracture in the foot that the ER doctor said wasn't broken. The bone scan report didn't even mention the lesion on her ankle that was the reason for the scan in the first place.
She was supposed to see the foot specialist on March 29th, but he had a death in his family, so it got rescheduled for April 4th (yesterday). Then yesterday she got caught in a monster traffic jam (took 45 minutes to travel a total of five miles). She called to let them know she'd be about 10 minutes late, and they told her they couldn't wait for her and rescheduled her again. Now the earliest they can see her is April 16th.
So this is why she is so frustrated. Everybody she talks to tells her something different, and nobody is telling her what she really needs to know most. She is going to call her regular doctor again tomorrow to let her know that the specialist rescheduled her again and see if maybe there is a different specialist who can see her sooner.
We appreciate the litterbombs. We've got three overflowing litterbombs here.! Now we just gotta get them to the doctor. Obviously, it isn't all that easy to get to him.
