I went to da vet doktor today for a check-up. Mommy gotted me in December and my rabies/bad temper shots were due. I had spent many mumfs at da Hoomane Society, so my shots were due.

Anyway, Doktor Marie says I am doing verry well all the sickness cleared up, my fur looks booteful, an I hab losted a pound. Mommy thouted I might since all I do is run and play after spending nine months in a cage. But my teefs are still not gud. I hab bad teefs from a ruff life on da street and at da Hoomane Society with mimimal care.

Sos, I hab a dental visit in early Joone. They think I will still have enuff teefs to eat dry food OK. I hab two more loose teefs dey probably will take out. Mommy set up da appointment and on da way out, sed, "By da way, what will dis costed me?" Dey said, "Between $350 and $550, depending on how bad."

We had to call da paramedik for Mommy. She is keeping da appointment, but I finks I may be sharing my kitty foods wif her for a few weeks to save up.

Fanks. I hab pretty bad ginger-vitis, as well. Da other medikations took some of da fection an swelling away and it is now safe for dem to do dental werk.

Mommy fot she knews what she was getting into when she adopted a sweet neglected kitty... But she sez it turned out better dan she cud have magined. Other den da button pushing on da answering machine (which I keep forgetting not to do), she ses Ize perfect...

Da vet sez I am about six years old, so we made dis munf my birfday (since it is da most popular munf for kitty birfs). It sound like I am getting better teefs for my birfday.

>>That is what my Mommy says about me too. Even though I snotbomb her when I sneeze. She's totally crazy about me, and I'm pretty crazy about her too, truth be told. I spend most of my time laying on her (she's pretty soft and fluffy, very well padded and comfortable). I have even trained her to hold me and continuously pet me for hours at a time while I reward her with my purr. I'm telling you, that purr is a powerful training tool!

Mommy is thinking I'm somewhere around that age too. Or at least somewhere between 4 and 6. We have decided to celebrate my birthday this month too, on Mother's Day, since I was Mommy's Mother's Day present to herself last year after Tinkerbell died. So my birthday won't be a specific date, it will be a special day, Mother's Day every year no matter what date it happens to be.

Purrs,

Happy Birfday to bof of us! We made mine da 18th since Mommy's is da 18th of a different munf and she would remember the day.

The Vet said I am around 5 or 6, maybeee 7, so we are going with 6 for now. We learned today dat da vets can tell mostly due to the condition of a kitty's eyes. They change as we age, even when we are younger. Mommy knew about cataracts and all from my brofers, but she didn't know they changed even as young as I am! I guess looking at our eyes is like looking at a tree's rings!

Another May birthday!

When I had my furrst vet visit after da lady adopted me from a motel, long story, anyhow, da vet sed I was about 6 months old. So we counted back and dat made it May. Da lady has her own birfday May 14th, so we decided to share it, so we use dat furr me, too.

Any ovver May birfdays?

Wuv, Topaze

So glad you got a mostly good checkup 'cept for your toofies, Sparkle. Mom says havin' kitties toofies fixed is more 'spensive than havin' her own fixed! MOL.
