Difference in a mokasen post shed

Horridus Oct 15, 2003 03:10 PM

Here is a picture of a gravid female A. c. mokasen from North GA soon after I arrived to pick it up from the clown who found it and was going to kill it. She was nothing special to me at the time, just a regular old mud colored North GA dog.

Here she is just a few days before giving birth to four big neonates (all fed voluntarily on week old pinks, first time offered) I knew something was up when it appeared there were two brown ugly snakes in the box instead of one. Not that she is spectacular now or anything but I like the greys and the velvety cast in this animal, and it was a nice surprise to see how she cleaned up. Her offspring are pretty much carbon copies of her.

Not ugly in my opinion. I think she is ver attractive. Although her colors arent screaming pink or red, I think her pattern is very nice and clean and I even like the darker tone. I have always had a soft spot for A.c.mokasen and realythink you have a nice animal there! Thanks for shareing the pics and more importantly, saveing her life! I cant belive anyone would want to kill somthing so cute!

Later,
J
