Midnight did as well as can be expected from his surgery Thursday.
The vet found a couple additional tumors near the neck area and removed them also. Midnight has a huge incision - from his right front "ankle" up to high on his right shoulder. The doctor gave us pain pills for him - one a day for 3 days; he'll see the vet again Nov 5 to have stitches removed. He's wearing an "Elizabethan collar" (a cone over his head) to keep him from licking or biting the incision. The vet fears that growth of the additional tumors may indicate an aggressive form of cancer, so ... Once the incision site is pretty well healed (and after sutures are removed), we'll start him on prednisone (which at least in some cases can slow the advancement of the cancer. As mentioned before, I won't put him through chemo or radiation.
