No more back-scratchers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dragonlord69 Oct 15, 2003 07:12 PM

I was working at my PC and letting Draconis walk around on the mountain I had set up for him (a blue sleeping bag thrown on top of some boxes I had yet to move out of the room) last night. As I was becoming focused on a news article, I heard this loud thud, and frantic scraping. I whirled around to find Draconis trying to scale the wall!!! I went over to him to calm him down, and he instanly puffed up at me (but not opening him mouth to bite me, which is something he has never ever tried to do...). I got my hands around his middle and lifted him up to my collar, petting him to calm him down. I looked everywhere for the danger, but saw nothing to provoke this reaction. I put him back in cage, and he ran around a little bit before finally settling down. As I went back to my PC, I reached over the table and pulled out my back-scratcher I had lying next to the Blue Mountain and did my biz. I laid it down on the table afterwards, right in front of Draconis's tank, and Draconis went berzerk again!!!!!! I pulled him out of his tank, held him for at least a few hours, and looked more carefully at the back-scratcher (while averting his eyes). It was a simple wood-grain scratcher with a curved, split end (for scratching), and rollers on the other (for massaging). I guess with the wood-grain color and the "fangs", it must have looked like a snake to him. I took that thing and snapped it in two and threw it in the garbage. My comfort definitely can take a back-seat to his well-being!!!
