Ok, a bit of an odd problem. My blue tegu seems to have recently developed a bit of an "overbite", almost as if his lower jaw isn't quite long enough. looking from bellow, you can see a bit of the inner lining of his mouth at the tip of his snout.
now, the first think i'd suspect would be calcium defficiency, but this is a 1 year old animal that's been on whole rodents since he was 3 months old, with occaisional supplementation via SDZ diet, and he's never shown any other sign. He's otherwise healthy, alert, 3'9" long, active, all that jazz. his diet's been the same, the only change has been me deepening the substrate level about 2 weeks ago.
one possibility i can think of is that he somehow damaged it in his constant escape attempts, but he doesn't seem to be in any pain like he would be if the jaw was broken. (i've since adjusted the temps and covered the clear roof, and as a result he greatly reduced the attempts.)
frankly, i'm at my wit's end over this. any clue would be of great help.
