>>any of you heard of problems with this happening I've had this happen in the past with no i'll effects just curious if any had problems with this.Yes they are housed together in a 6'X 3'X 30" cage they have plenty of room I guess I'm going to have to seperate them. They just have such a strong feeding response, its crazy they have bitten me on numerous occasions.I have 3 females 2 that are very difficult.2males that are fairly easy going.I'd like some suggestions other than the obvious handleing more often.the female thats the worse has given me awsome tri striped babies. There beautiful.ANY SUGESTIONS WELCOME
How bad is the bite? I asuming you'd take her to the vet if it looked serious...
My first suggestion to you is to not feed inside the cage. If for no other reason than to not encourage them thinking that things comming into their cage is food. With snakes that have STRONG feeding responses this is important...
Second, I'd break them up into seperate cages. This allows you to deal with each snake idividually (no more getting team tagged).
Thirdly, you may want to start handling with gloves and a long sleeved shirt at first. This is so you can take bite after bite and not react. As the snakes find out that biting does no good they will calm down with time. And as they become mellow-er you can wean them off of gloves altogether...Now some snakes just don't tame down no matter what, but its always worth a try and if nothing else your evil female might be a bit more handleable!
Hope this helps,
Darci
