Odd Sleeping Habits.

MidnightFalcon May 28, 2003 01:11 PM

This morning I walked into the room to check on my uros.. and I saw the strangest thing. My male was in one corner, in his position to start glass dancing.. and my female was in the opposite corner in the same position. I stood there for a few minutes watching them and neither of them moved so I went over and it turns out they were asleep. I was just curious if this would effect my uro's spine or any other body parts by sleeping this way for long periods of time.

That's funny because my uro has done the same thing. Has this happened more than once?

Our male Mali buries himself under his food dish like a normal uro. Our female, however, who loves to "cage dance" (we called it vertical treadmilling) has, on multiple occasions, fallen asleep propped up against the wall in that position. One time, she had her weight up entirelyon her tail and she was starting to doze off. After several minutes I heard a strange "flop" from the cage. She had fallen over!! So cute
regardless, she's been doing it for years with no evident ill-effects.

I took a picture of my mali who had fallen asleep mid-climb on his slate rock. He stayed like that all night. I'll try to get them up as soon as possible.
