Spotted Turtle a slider?

i was given a spotted turtle yesterday. is it a type of slider?
would it be safe and comfortable in the same pool with a RES? they are about the same size...4-5" in length. thanks.

I have both spotted turtles and red ears but I wouldn't keep them together. Spotteds don't need their water as deep. The red ear may also try to bite the long tail of the spotted.Good luck with the spotted they are my favorite turtle but some are hard to acclimate.

thanks, this one seems to be at ease. he certainly is NOT scared as he does not retreat into his shell upon handling. i will be creating a new habitat for him this weekend.
