The value of the Iraqi Theater

DevinP Oct 16, 2003 12:16 PM

In the past, terrorism was a nebulous, insidious, faceless phenomenon that plagued the US. Those who hated the US and vowed "death to America" did not present an easy target. Our strategy was to sit back and wait for the next attack and then react. Our strategy was, unfortunately, defensive. Since 9/11 we have become offensive. The UBL, the Taliban, Al Qaeda and Saddam all found out the hard way that this "Sleeping Giant" was also capable of terrorism.

Iraq happens to be right in the heart of the terrorists breeding ground. How convenient! The Iraqi Threater provides a superb venue for terrorists all around to join up with each other to fight "the Evil Satan". Again, how convenient! Pile in morons! It's nice having them all in one spot, the same spot where our US military happens to be hunting the down, like going through a "deck of cards". Iraq, in effect, has put a face and a target on terrorism. Thank you! Those who are attempting to kill our soldiers might as well put a bulls-eye on their backs. Iraq has brought terrorism out in the open. Those who are againstthe US military in Iraq (Kanuck, Fred Albury, Herpes, Stoeckl, Steve A.C., Tommy Boy, etc) are also fans of terrorism.

What a load of crap. If that's the case there are an awful lot of people in your country who are for terrorism. And you might want to rethink your statement where you say the sleeping giant is capable of terrorism too. I don't think anyone would qualify any of the U.S. actions now or ever as terrorist. As for opposing the military, we're not. We are questioning some of your Governments decisions. The military does what the government tells it to. That is as it should be. The miltary can tell the government the chances of winning a conflict but they never make the decision to go to war. So you can question the governments decisions and not be against the military. They don't make policy, the government does. You are resorting more and more to McCarthyist smear tactics. I didn't like you up to this point, but at least I had a grudging respect for your passion. Not that it matters but you've totally lost that with this last post.

Sweet Pants!

"And you might want to rethink your statement where you say the sleeping giant is capable of terrorism too. I don't think anyone would qualify any of the U.S. actions now or ever as terrorist."

Actually NO, I don't need to "rethink" anything. Why don't you ask UBL and Saddam (if they are still in one piece) if the concept of "terror" entered their minds when our military had them in the crosshairs? Are you going to tell me, moron, that they didn't feel like they were being terrorized? Only an anti-American like you would struggle not to get something this obvious.

Blah! Blah! Blah! Save your suffocating dissertation for your sucker comrades. Don't pretend you have something to teach me.

I didn't like you from the start. Nana Nana Boo Boo!
