5 Day adjustment period too long?

sjenkins Oct 16, 2003 06:27 PM

Hello all,
There is a reptile show in St Louis this Sunday that I plan on attending and purchasing my first snake. The problem is I have to fly out of town on Monday and won't return until late Friday night. My question is this: Is 5 days to long to wait to give a new snake his first meal? I know most recommend at least a 3 day settle in time before any interaction. Would an extra couple of days be to much? My wife and son will be home the whole time to monitor water and temperature, but would rather not do any feeding. I know a lot will depend on when his last meal was, but can anyone give opinions/guidlines? The new snake will probably be a corn.
Thanks in advance.
