Howdy all garter fans ! I am the proud owner of 2 Thamnophis Sirtalis for a little more than a year now. However , i am not sure if they are male and female...and would be disapointed if i could'nt have the pleasure of breeding them togheter...I have been tryng to get hand on a couple ( M and F ) of Red-Sided ,finding them to be the most beautiful Thamnophis variety, but since I live in montreal (canada), the shipping for such is astronomic as most breeders or available red-sided i know of are in US....Any advice or connection to help me ? Any breeders in canada ? Or any way of finding some at a low cost ?

I don't know of any Canadian suppliers, but red-sided garters are found in Manitoba. A number of years ago National Geographic had a spread on the snake pits (hibernacula) out there. Good luck.
