Hey, I am thinking about going to Costa rica herping next summer. Does anybody know where I can find out a guide down there? A guide that will be willing to look for herps and walk throught the jungle.

Ron,
I went herping in CR twice in 2001 with Jim Kavney from Hiss-n-things. Jim has been going to CR for many years and really knows his way around which makes for a good trip. The cost of the trip was awesome! We caught many different types of herps and took a ton of pics. On our 2nd trip to CR we got to meet Jeff Corwin from Animal Planet. He was out there with his camera crew doing a documentary with on bush Masters. Very nice guy! Anyhow if you would like to see some of my pics from the trip go to the following link:

To get more info on the next trip Jim is going to have and to also read about each of our trips in more detail go to this link:

If you are really serious about doing a trip like this for a reasonable price I'd say go for it. That's pretty much what I did. I think my wife was happy to get me out of the house so she could go shopping 24/7
I met some really amazing people on the trips and still keep in touch with many of them. If you would like to talk just let me know. I would be happy to help any way I could.
Good luck,
