Males living longer than females?

I read this today in my newest issue of "Reptiles" magazine.
Is this true? I mean, sure I could see it if you bred the hell out of the female, but what if you never bred the female? That would be lame as I tend to buy almost all females!

I know that to be true of Green tree pythons, and I wouldn't put it passed Bloods either or any python for that matter.
