Building cage for lizard...

LizardLuva Oct 16, 2003 07:58 PM

I am getting a Savannah Monitor sooner or later, and was thinking of converting an old piece of furniture into a cage, #1: How big should the piece be?
#2: How do I convert it?(Entrance, sealent, etc)
#3: What can i build into the cage?
Thanks!

You're probably not going to find a piece of furnature big enough to convert to an enclosure.
when that monitor hits 3-4 feet long, a 3x6 foot floorspace would probably be minimum and still allow room for it to roam a bit, but bigger would definately be better.
You'll also need a nice bit of height to allow for climbing space.

your best bet would be to build an enclosure from scratch, then you can be sure your monitor will live comfortably in its new home.
good to see you're doing your homework before purchasing

good luck!
