grey tree frog and pacific tree frog

3000gtlover Oct 16, 2003 11:01 PM

I rescued a grey tree frog from petco who was living with firebellies and I brought him home. I was wondering if he could live with pacific tree frogs. I have 5 of them living in a cage (it's a really big terranium) and I was wondering if he could live with them

First, as stated in many posts before... it's never a good idea to mix species.

BUT most importantly... you don't want to add a new frog to an existing tank without at least a 3 month quarentine! ESPECIALLY one from PetCo. You could introduce some SERIOUS parasites to your froggies and end up with a tank full of deaths.

He's being kept in a separate cage right now. I feel bad because I can tell he wants to interact with the other frogs... but I know it's probably best that they stay away from one another

Frogs don't have any want to interact with eachother, so what you're seeing is just one frog being curious as to what's in the other tank. He could see it as a place he wants to be or recognizes frogs and wants to find a mate in there or something of the sort. It won't get lonely alone, so it's really best to keep him alone how he is.
