assuming its your first gecko i would go with the tremper albino. blizzards and het blizzards tend to have a vey nastey attitude. most times they are down right mean, its not something that handles out, they bite scream ,wiggle, scratch and poop and pee. some dont but the majority seem pretty nastey and timid. the trempers are usually very docile. personally i would go tremper especially if this is your first gecko, if ya get a mean one it might give you a bad taste in your mouth about leos in general-robin

what do you mean, i have het for blizards, soon to add blizards het albino, and not a single one is mean. the only mean one i have seen are from prehistoric pets and xtreme reptiles, xtreme got theres from a big breeder that doesn't do much....
-----
prehistoric originated the whole blizard lizard line. and yes MOST are rather mean regardless of where they came from... if not mean the are nervous or skittish... even the hets.
however i am sure you know way more than me so ill just let it stand blizz's are docile on the most part blah

. . . Every Blizz het I've owned or witnessed first hand was at best - skittish - and normally, one mean cuss.
It's really strange - I can't figure it out - but from my own experiences and the accounts of others, there's something about the Blizzards that make them cranky!
Oh well, that doesn't matter anyway. I've become disillusioned with them since they've darkened up so much. They remind me of the landscape of late winter in Minnesota - covered with SNIRT - Snow mixed with dirt. LOL

Not that I have TONS of experience with blizzards, but NONE that I have had, from a couple of different sources (not that that matters) has been any of the things you she describes. Actually quite the opposite.

because BOTH of the blizzards I got from you have the typical feisty blizzard attitude! Hmmm maybe when they arrive at my house they change, I dunno. I remember I got my first blizzard hets in 1999, a 1.2 and they were MEAN! I used to leave their cage until the very end of my cage cleaning because they would literally JUMP out of the blanket box and try and bite me. I'm not kidding.

. . . LOL. I recently had a Bearded Dragon on display at my campus church - which hated me with a passion. Drew serious blood on me 3 times - would actually LEAP at me whenever I walked by. I swore she could smell me coming (and before you start - I have good personal hygene!!)
I gave him to a friend of mine (in trade for a mel leo) - and it sat on his arm - let him scratch her all over - closed her eyes and cuddled on his arm. When I went by - she gave me the evil, reptilian eye. (sort of reminded me of someone else I know . . . oh never mind . . .LOL)
Herps can be funny at times, that's for sure. . .

Yeah, one of our adult males is like that! His name is Vlad, one the original blizzards from Prehistoric Pets in 1999.
Thanks

Yeah, we only have one blizzard that is nice! All the rest are surely the product of Satan, or very skittish.
Thanks

I'm in no way arguing with what has been said, but my only blizzard, a 85 gram male is sooooo calm. He's never so much as run from me when I take him out. He was even very calm as a youngster when I got him. BUT, since I've read these threads before about feisty, bitey blizzards, I'm always hesitant when I do take him out. His name is Goliath.

I have two blizzards, a male and female and a female Tremper Albino. I can't say i'd prefer one of the other in the case of morphs, but heres what i've found.
Abby (albino) is very calm and curious. She will come up to the glass and just stare at me. I've been able to handle her a little bit but not much......still working with all my geckos to get them used to that.
Nala (female blizzard) is just now starting to calm down! She usually screams and bites when i go into her cage. She has been downright nasty. Over the past week or so, she's started to stick her head out of her hide when i put mealies in, and not scream or try to bite. Theres hope yet
Bronx my male blizzard.......well he hid for the better part of 2 weeks. He was very skiddish but never tried to bite or scream. He still won't come running to the glass at feeding time like Dot or Lily, but he's out of hiding most of the time now and doesn't run away when i'm near his tank.
I wouldn't give up any of them cause of their personality, nasty or not. I just have to be patient, and so far its paying off. Hopefully one day Nala will let me hold her

I'd say go with the albino, as they calm down much faster and tend to be more docile then blizzards or blizzard hets. But they can be a bit feisty at first too.
In my own experience:
I have 6 albinos and 1 albino het.
3 blizzards and 4 blizzard hets.
All but two of the albinos calmed down within 2 weeks after settling in or hatching. The other two took until they reached adulthood to calm down.
Out of the blizzards...
My oldest, the original het (also kinda pastel) took until after her 1st breeding season to calm. My male is still a bit skittish,
Every hatchling I've had was jumpy and skittish. Two calmed down really well. My 4 month olds are still pretty jumpy tho. The two calm ones were hets from an outcross. blizzard x normal.
Each leo has their own personality tho. So even though Blizzards have a reputation doesn't mean that they can't be really sweet lizards, I had a blizzard that I gave to a friend hatch out and be as tame as can be from day one. But that was my one exception X3
Choose which one you think has the better personality and tha you like more.
Well i have a tremper and i got her 2 weeks old and at like a month she was pretty calm enough to handle. But she is still a little skiddish when i open her cage but i don't blame her its loud. My friend has a blizzard and he is pretty fast and squirmy but he has had him for a week now so i don't know yet.All i know is trempers are very docile my little albey sits in my hand absorbing heat for like 20 minutes.
