I had a 5' yellow rat some time ago who fed regularly on whole chicken eggs. She would swallow them whole, then crush them with her body muscles when they were part-way down her body.
Anybody out there have a Pituophis who would also eat whole chicken eggs?? I have a 4' plus Black Pituophis, a real beautiful, docile snake and was wondering whether or not it would eat them when it got a little larger.
I raise chickens and am anxiously awaiting my snakes being large enough to eat chicken eggs, and wondering if they will. Right now I just hatch them and feed chicks to everyone every three weeks, they love that.
In hopes of getting mine to eat eggs I recently purchased some button quail. They lay a tiny egg and am hoping that once they start laying the snakes will eat those eggs. I am also going to hatch some so I can feed the smaller snakes chicks. I think a varied diet is important. I will add that my feeder room is now getting fuller than my herp room!! ROFL
