cooling cantils

theMAC Oct 17, 2003 11:49 AM

Soon all my kings and corns will be sleeping and it'll just be me and the boids sitting up stairs enjoying a quiet winter.

Then it occured to me that I had not properly researched my new cantil's cooling requirements. All my species of native (north east texas) Agkistrodons do very well cooling nov to may. But this mexican beauty may not need as much.

Any info would be much appreciated.

I probably should have said it is an ORNATE cantil. (A. b. taylori)

I bred them a few years back. I let my snake room go without heat here in south Florida unless it got below fifty degrees, then I'd heat the whole room a little with a space heater. Mine bred in February or March & dropped young in late summer..quite a long gestation period.
