Beanie Back from vet and other news-long

Linda G Oct 17, 2003 01:10 PM

Back we went to the vet this morning. Guess what? This
new vet could not find anything wrong either. She is well
hydrated and besides being a few ounces underweight everything
was OK. The vet really isn't new though, she went on her
own several months ago. She is an exotic specialist and has
reptiles herself. She was in the same clinic where my original
vet is from.

There is another addition to our family who went along for
a check up and was not quite so lucky. We drove 7 hours
yesterday to adopt our new baby. It is soooo little! The
bad news is that it already is displaying signs of MBD. It
has a subluxation of its right leg where the leg feets the
foot (it looks funny with a little cast). Its back legs are
a little soft also. Dr. Chris said that we can turn things
around easily though.

Beanie is acting really different today. She is really green
and took 4 bites of food from my hand. She is moving around
and really watching the baby from across the room. She is
more alert than usual. I about fainted when she walked up
to her water dish and began drinking. She HAS NEVER drank
from a water dish!

I hope it is not wishful thinking that maybe she will come
around.

I'll update soon and try to post some pictures of my new
baby which I named Digit, soon.

Linda

Thats wonderful about Beanie! Sounds like she's starting to come around, and even just a few bites of solid food is a good beginning You'll see, she'll be sucking platefuls back in no time I'm sure.

Grats on the new baby too, sounds like you've done the right thing in taking him/her in. You are a good ig-mum for sure Post photos of course! Need before's so you can post impressive afters!
