They are all amazing animals. If I lived somwhere in the
south I'd have tons of them. My favorites and the rhinos
and the blues! I think the rhinos are a little coller
looking (probably because of testosterone poisoning) but the
blues are such a close second! The second reason I got a
rhino is because I could not find any blues at a decent price.
I got my rhino from ROn St. Pierre.

BUT, I think each Cyclura is beautiful in its own way and
the world is a little sadder place each time a species is
lost.

Testosterone Poisoning - n. A medical condition causing human males to act stupid in the company of human females, take part in male/male combat, engage in tests of stregnth, speed, endurance, and/or to gravitate towards anything that is bigger, newer, and/or somehow more impressive.

Hi, my name is Brian and I have been know to occasionally suffer from Testosterone Poisoning. Thankfully my episodes are waining with age. I feel (other than the price) I may have chosen a rhino over a blue because they are big, hulking, dinosaur/dragon, kick-your-butt looking critters.

The above is not intented for medical diagnosis. If you feel that you, or someone you love may be a victim of TP see your doctor or call 1-800-CAMARO.

your choice was probably a good one. The blues have TP too and arguably even worse.
Mine sure does..

That depends on how you interpret "best". Personally, I think the Rhinos are the most impressive and interesting in appearance. I love their bulk. If you prefer pretty colors the Cayman Island Blue hybrids are hard to beat if you get a nice one. If you are looking for an all-around nice animal with interesting looks, a Cuban can't be beat. If I could only keep one type of Cyclura it would be the Rhinos. My older pair have the sweetest personalities of any lizard I've ever kept. I have to keep telling Bubbles that, at 16 plus pounds, she's getting too big to be carried around all the time! LOL

Well I do love how all Cyclura look but there are some that stand out more than others. I myself like the Rhinos the best, I like the C. Pinguis(the fleshy dorsal crest is really neet). I also like the Lewisi as well, they have lots of personality, and well bred ones get alot of color. But the rhinos I have will always be my favorites. They are really nice as adults, and most are intelligent and will walk right up to you. I don't have alot of experience with cyclura but of the three species I have kept I like my rhinos the best. Here is a picture of my massive female rachel. She is about 43 inches and near or over 20lbs(I need a scale)she is very tame, and often gets out of her cage to sleep on my bed at night. I have recently aquired a male of almost the same size and disposition, and I hope to get some eggs once I get them outside. Of course our weather needs to improve for me to be able to do that. Well it's been a while so I thought I would inform you guys on whats hapening here in Lancaster PA. Talk to you soon.
