Either. Cool mist comes from a sonic activator that makes the water mist, and the heat one pretty much boils it.

Cool mist will save you money on the electric bill because it takes less energy to operate. If youre trying to get a humidifier to produce droplets on plants for your cham (for them to drink), its not quite that easy. I tried one and it took FOREVER of dumping mist (cool humidifier) into the cage before drops would appear. It just didnt do good enough to WATER my cham. Now i have an automatic mister (haba mist) for drinking water and a humidifier soley for humidity control.

Use cool mist. The warm mist humidifiers boil the water, so this has the potential of burning your cham. Plus, as said earlier, the cool mist will save you money on electricity. Good Luck!

these work the best, they create fog like conditions, and raise the humidity the most. the cool mist ones usually use a filter that absorbs the water and a fan that just blows across that......

does the fog raise or fall? Except for the back, it's all screen.

i'm not sure what you mean, the fog actually fills the room. it almost looks smoky, so to say. after the ultrasonic has been running for about 3 hours, the whole room is "hazy".

The fog falls like the gas from dry Ice does, it has a similar looking effect as the bubbling witch's cauldrons do at a halloween party. It will eventualy warm up also, it won't burn your cham at all, but it won't be the cool mist that comes out at first, and it will raise the cage temp a little. If you need to provide extra humidty, this is the way to do it, you can pipe it in with pvc piping, and you don't have to worry about a fogger splashing or breaking down or shocking your cham. Good Luck!
