Hmmm, is this a female Anole?

Vel Oct 17, 2003 08:55 PM

OK, my little cousin bought a male green ( I think it's green, tho' it never changes from brown.) Anole, and being the nice guy I am, I thought hmm, the male Anole shouldn't be lonely, so I went and bought what i think is a female. I read a book at the shop about Anoles and I saw one in the tank that looked like a female. So I picked that one. Now, today, a relative called me downstairs saying they were doing some kind of ritual, lol. So, here they are both on the branch.. The original Anole was flexing the dewlap and doing pushups, and the other one was flexing a very small dewlap and trying to do pushups. They came very close to one another and opened their mouths and acted like they were going to french kiss each other but that was it, they never bit at each other or anything. My aunt said that earlier, they were on top of one another. Do males lay on top of one another, or just male and female?

On TOP of eachother? They mate more, like, next to eachother... vents close to eachother and tails partially twirled. That's for Browns, I can't remember seeing Greens mate, but I'm pretty sure it's the same.
