some of my snakes scales look like they are peeling.....

some of the scales on my snake looks like they are peeling- as if he were sun burn or something- he just shed before i got him a week ago- is this normal?

Two things come to mind. One, your snake is dehydrated.. Soak him in hand luke warm water. Two, fat snakes when they have laid curled up for a while will cause scales to be bend. Resulting the peeling aeffect. No wories..

My KY locale black rat has the same thing. He has a problem with dry skin and his skin sometimes will dry out some. I have tried everything from a moist hide box to raising the temps in his container. It gets worse in the winter when there is less humidity in the air. He has been this way since I first got him. It may be genetic, who knows.
