How come he isn't balling up? Could this be a sign of stress? He just stretches out under his light or beside his hide box...
Also, will not eat. Got an under-cage heating pad (human) on low, a heat lamp about a foot above the cage just above the hide box, which is a shoe box upside down with a hole in it. A cooler side across the cage with a small plastic water bowl. A piece of wood for him to climb on. I'm worried... Please reply..
How long have you had him? If you just got him give him a couple of days to weeks to settle in. It is not unusual for these snakes to go on hunger strikes for no apparent reason.(thank god mine never has) Balling up is a defense tatic. They hide their sensitive head among the coils of their body for protection, so yours not balling up may not be a cause for concern. Having said that what are your actuall temps? Streaching out under a light sounds like he may be trying to warm up a little.
Good luck
Paul
I've had him about a week now, but the pet shop said it had been a week since his last feeding. The temp is set at 90 when the light is on, and drops down to 75-80 without the light. Thanks for your help.
I realize this is the wrong forum, but I couldn't find the right one.
