injured snake...

Becky May 28, 2003 04:32 PM

Hello,

I have a 4 year old corn. He has fake silk plants in his enclosure. One of them was one of those fake vines. I have it attatched with the wire ends...and I did not notice until today that it also has suction cups on it attatched with little plastic loops. I noticed because one of them was stuck around his middle very tightly! He apparently tried to crawl through it and did not fit. I cut it off, but it was so tight that 2 or 3 scales in that area are torn off and the rest are very badly bent up. There is no blood or raw areas, but I still want to make sure he is ok. Should he go to a vet? Or is there something I should do for him? Thanks.

Becky

My advice... go to a reptile vet.

Until then, you could put some ointment on the skin if needed, like neosporin (use the kind without pain killers).

But go to the vet... and make sure there are no more dangers like that still in the cage.
