I have been amazed at how bold these guys are as hatchlings. Mine stay out in the open where you can see them all the time. They never burrow in their substrate or attempt to hide in any way no matter what time of day it is. They are brave and will usually stand their ground when I reach in to pick them up for cage cleaning, often striking rapidly 2 or 3 times but at their hatchling size it's funny.
I hope to pick up a pair from another bloodline ASAP.

One of these days I'll hopefully get a pair... They've been on my list for a while. Glad to hear they're bold, it would be a shame to have such a gorgeous snake hiding all the time (Ahem, sort of like my Mandarins).

Randy, they are great, aren't they. Mine strike like that too, w/o any damage, but it's interesting how agressive they can be at birth. Good luck getting some unrelateds. They're starting to be one of my favorites TC.
