It depends...females can lay eggs well into their 20's but it all depends on how well you treat them all the way through their lives. Breeding them every year may stress them out but they ultimately know what is best for them...they will ovulate if they feel all is well with them. So to directly answer your question, hypothetically, if a female lived to be 25 years old, it would not be crazy to say she could lay 10-18 clutches.

The only exceptions are when the snakes are tricked into thinking a full year has gone by when it as only been 6 or 8 months. This has been done a few times by some folks by manipulating the temps and light cycles to make the snakes think it is winter in the middle or end of summer. The Barkers did it with a retic I believe and a friend of mine did it one year with an Antaresia species. But like I said, that is just trickery, not anything they do naturally.

Per Gene Bessette, the average number for chondros is 6 clutches. I would imagine carpets would be similar.
You don't really want to try to breed carpets more than once a year. Give the female a chance to bounce back.
