I would keep your ambanja for a while before getting another chameleon. See what its like, I don't know if this is your first cham or not, but if it is, just wait a little bit before getting another. Being a first time cham owner has a lot of things to get used to, so it is best to get used to one, then once you are used to it you can show your parents that you are responsible enough to own another, then you could get another, however, if this is your first cham, even if your parents allow you to get another, I would wait until you have had a lot of experience with your first before you get another. They are a lot different than leopard geckos, and require much more care. Good Luck!

I still live with my father. I have a TON of animals (considering we live in a 2 bedroom apt) but he loves them all. If he had the time/$ to invest in them he would have more for himself! He thought I was nuts at first spending as much as I did on Orion. BUT it was all my money. Only now (since I'm looking for a new job) does he help me with crix, etc.
I would wait at least six months before you get another cham though. this will give your parents time to fall in love with your ambanja. At that point it will be easier toget another lol. Also, there are a lot of costs that arise when getting a cham. Between cage costs, humidifiers, vet bills, food bills, etc I've invested about $1500-$2000 in my panther since Feb. Most of that was put in before last spring. you want to make sure you can afford the financial responsibility of one cham before you get another. Things come up that you wouldn't even think of before hand...
Oh, and just be REALLY careful that you don't let any crix escape. My cat turned my cricket tub over one day. That, and one seems to always get out at feeding time. That drives my dad NUTS.

I'm not lecturing you man. I'm warning you... My cham was sick when I got her and I took her to the vet a lot. I know you know you have to wait, just giving you more to think of. The more YOU are prepared when you get your next cham, the more your parents will let you Besides, if anything comes up (and it may not, but it could) and your parents get stuck with the bill, do you think they will want you to get another one?
And I did respond, the more time you give your parents to fall in love with your cham the more they will want you to get another one.

hi i have the same problem that you do i have to beg to be able to get more reptiles...also a trade works like give a pet back to get a new one....like fish most pet store will take fish back or wild caught animals like your mandits can be put back or sold

if you want we can talk...

and show your parents you are responsible they might be more willing to let you get more. Also a part time job to help support your own animals couldn't hurt. If you are in school making the honor roll a couple of times could help too.
Most of the people responding are serious. These animals can cost a lot to keep. They are not trying to insult you or put you down. We could always use more "cham people"
