Switching to Rats

Sasheena Oct 18, 2003 07:09 PM

My "picky eater" JCP decided she likes rats... on the first attempt!

I bought her as a "assist fed" yearling, and she immediately ate for me. As she's gotten bigger she's eating small adult mice. Since I just started raising rats, I dropped a fuzzy rat in her cage to see what happens. She struck first thing, and gulped it down.

Should I worry if I have to go back to mice? I only have the one litter of rats, with one other on the way. My thought is that if she took to rats without a single glance at them, I shouldn't have to worry too much.

Anyway, I'm pretty proud of my Dreamer.

as it is sometimes hard to get JCP's to switch over to rats when they have had mice since hatchlings.
