Are Bullheads a safe food source?????

Vette Oct 18, 2003 07:52 PM

I just went fishing the other day and end up with a few Bullheads. I took them home and cut from a slant starting from the dorsal fin to there two steering fins up front. I then feed him just the bodys. I but of there fins so when my caiman bites down he wouldn't end up stabing himself with there needle like fins.
Now is this a safe good fish to be feeding him on a weekly bases?
I own by caimen for over six years, his almost 5 feet. As of now his been getting deer meat, chichen legs, and chubs.

Thanks
Rick

So long as there isn't a chance of the spines hurting him I don't know why it wouldn't be OK. There's a website that has the Thiamanise(sp?) content of fish listed. I would check out the content first before feeding though. If some one else has something to add please do... Oh yeah, I remember some one posted the website in the forum before but it's been a while.
