First escape for me

Langi Oct 18, 2003 11:59 PM

I've only been keeping herps for about a year and half so this was fisrt escapee. It wasn't very traumatic (if anything more for me) I went into my room to go to sleep but I couldn't because my ball python beat me to it. I found him lounging on the covers. Quicking recaptured and returned to cage. Not to mention my door wide open and four cats in the house. Man Im glad I decided to get up instead of falling asleed on the couch.

I first discovered my yearling female knew how to push her cage door open while I was watching TV one night. I was minding my own business when I saw something wierd out of the corner of my eye. My girl had escaped and come over to sit on the back of my chair about a foot away from my face! Scared me half to death, but at least I found her before she was gone forever.

They are sneaky little creatures, aren't they? Maybe your baby just wanted to tuck you in! At least the balls are fairly fat compared to other species, especillay colubrids, and it's easy to stop them from doing it again. Or so we think.
