feeding question for pacmans

beefkake7 Oct 19, 2003 12:08 AM

is it ok to feed my pacman frog other frogs, like small bullfrogs and such. Ive read alot about how you're not supposed to feed them verts......so i was wondering about other frogs. i have fed my pacman (beefkake) 3 of these frogs in the past week i just put them in the aquarium, and when I look later, or the next day either the frogs are gone, or in today's case, i found beefkake with a frogleg hanging out of his mouth.

also are pacmans shy. will they eat infront of you??
thanks

I `use to feed my horn frog leopard frogs. After a while I felt kind of bad because another frog doesn't derserve to be caught out of the wild to just be chomped by hornfrog.

Acctually, a Pacmans diet in the wild consists 80-90% (Don't remember wich) of other frogs. So I am pretty sure it is fine.

If you choose to feed horned frogs other frogs as food, you run the risk of having your horned frog refuse all other types of food. I've seen this happen.

so then i shold kep it mixed up, like frogs every once in a while , and crickets and other insects?

I wouldn't do it sine these are frogs from completely different areas in the world and the potentil to make your horned frog is there since those are wild cuaght non-quarantind frogs.
