Misting question

shopaholic Oct 19, 2003 12:32 AM

Have a Mr. Moisture Jr. Mister, one head at center top of a tall tank. 30 gal. Mister is on 4 times a day, 2-4 minute cycles and the tank does not seem wet enough. Course at the top, since its a front loading tank, the read is 99% humidity, but closer to the bottom(a good 24 inch down)I can feel with my hand its much cooler and dryer. There is also 2 closable venting doors on the 2 sides toward bottom with a low speed fan attached to one side that circulates the air really efficiently.

Can one attach more heads to saturate more places of the tank(some pockets seem considerabley dryer then others)? Should I close the vents or set the fan on a timer? Are my misting times ridiculously long? I checked the archives and no one is using such long times. How wet does your soil look after you mist?

thanks-Maggie

It sounds fine to me, if your humidity is at 99%. Do you have any pictures of your tank? What type of tank is it?

should you choose to add another nozzle, it is simple. Go to wetworksms.com and order another nozzle, some more tubing(i believe the size is 3/8 OD(outside diameter), and you will need a "T" adapter. This allows you to plug another nozzle in, but lets some water continue on through to the other nozzle. Your second nozzle will be the elbow adapter...the one that came with your system

If it isn't wet enough i would just close the ventds at the bottom and put the fan on a timer, that would probably solve your problems.
