Ball Python?

A Friend Of Mine Recently Found A Snake We Belive To be A Ball Python Its over 6ft Long I was Wonder What the Average Selling Price on them are and what are good channels to sell snakes online? Im Going To Post Pics of the Snake As Soon As I Figure Out Where I can Host A Pic At .

Over 6 feet? Probably not a ball.

6' would be a huge ball python. Price would depend if its a male or female and there is no way of knowing the genetics if its captive born or wild caught. Send me a pic, if you can, take a pic of the underside of its tail too. I'm pretty good at eyeballing them to sex them. Send a pic to BLREPS@optonline.net.

OK thanks im gonna send the pics here in a sec.. Im almost certain that it was a captive snake let loose or escaped my friend can handle him and he just barley sqeezes his arm I apreciate at the info On it. thanks.

Well the mystery of the 6' ball python if over! I just received a picture and it's a solid 6'! But its a boa constrictor. Are they native to Texas??!! LOL.......Bill

Well, darn. I was hoping we were going to find out that "Everything's bigger in Texas" adage was true, even when it came to Ball Pythons.

On a more serious note, according to my Field Guide to Western Reptiles and Amphibians, no Boas are native to Texas (though my book is probably about 30 years old or so, and may not have the most current information). Now it's a toss up whether it is more likely an escapee or a "dumped" animal...
